This course will provide a basic knowledge on the microbiology and immunology with an emphasis on medical/ biomedical aspect. The goal of this course is to familiarize the pharmacy students with the biological agents of medical importance as well as the response of the defense system in the body. This course will cover the bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites of medical importance and the basic of understanding of immune system including structure, organization and function of the immune system. The diagnosis test of certain disease related to infectious disease and the immune response of certain diseases are also introduced. The practical sessions are designed to reinforce the theoretical knowledge and apply to the clinical setting.
