The course will include tests for normality, and descriptive and inferential statistics using available statistical tools.

The course will include topics on how to conduct a literature review, determine, the research question, objectives, research hypothesis, and research process, develop study instruments and finally develop and present a research proposal. 


This course is designed for students to understand common cardiovascular diseases. These include the congenital heart diseases, valvular heart diseases, arrythmias, ischemic heart diseases, cardiac failure, inflammation and infections involving the heart, cardiomyopathies, hypertension (systemic and pulmonary), peripheral vascular diseases and vasculitides. Students shall need to integrate this knowledge with those acquired from various disciplines: Anatomy, Physiology, Molecular Basis of Medicine & Nutrition, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, Pharmacology, Community medicine.
