Synopsis:

 

This course discusses on the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal disorders involving the bones, muscles, neuromuscular junctions, tendons, joints, ligaments and bursae. Amongst the disorders are osteoporosis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, myasthenia gravis, musculoskeletal pain, tendinitis etc. The pharmacological aspects of the management of the musculoskeletal disorders are also discussed in this course. This includes the medicinal chemistry of selected drugs used in the management of musculoskeletal disorders. The up-to-date and current pharmacotherapeutic aspects of management of musculoskeletal disorders are also discussed in this course. This course uses multiple teaching-learning approaches to ensure different learning techniques applied to the students for better learning.
