Topics covered are mainly anatomical and physiological fundamentals of human motion which include: observation and assessment of basic functional tasks; introduction to normal mechanics of the neck, trunk, upper limbs and lower limbs; analysis of impairments in joint and muscle function that may contribute to abnormal performance of functional tasks; and the use of exercise as a means of reversing these impairments and optimizing motor performance. Emphasis will be on the use of exercise as a means of improving strength, power, endurance, muscle length and skill acquisition
