Senior surgery course is provided in a 4 weeks in Semester 9/ year 5 of medical program.
The course will be conducted in the department of surgery in Putrajaya Hospital and Shah Alam Hospital.
Students interact with patients in the surgical wards and outpatient’s clinics. They must attend minor and major operative theatre, endoscopy suite, teaching rounds, clinical skills lab, seminars (TBLs) and common sessions. Students should do on calls. Emphasis in semester 9 will be on the management of common surgical conditions and surgical emergencies. The course will consolidate earlier acquired clinical skills by virtue of the students being involved in bedside patient care.
