This course is aimed to expose the students to anaesthesia practice in the operating theatres and the Intensive Care Unit with emphasis in correlation of basic sciences, namely physiology and pharmacology learnt during preclinical years.
Being the primary responder to surgical and emergency hospital practice, this posting teaches students the details of clinical delivery of anaesthesiology in the operating theatres, intensive care unit and the wards and in the resuscitation of the critically ill patients. Perioperative management including preparation and stabilization of patients before surgery, intraoperative care and management and postoperative pain management and care are also emphasised.
