Basic Immunology includes topics and themes considered essential for the basic understanding of the immune system. It covers the structure, organization and function of the immune system as well as the mechanisms of a normal immune response. The immunopathology of diseases caused by an abnormal immune response and the basis of immunological tests used in the diagnosis of certain diseases are also introduced. Students need to integrate this knowledge with those acquired from various systemic courses
