Pharmaceutical Analysis I (Analytical Chemistry I) is a collection of techniques that allows exact laboratory determination of the composition of a given sample of material. In this course students will be introduced to different types of titrations, electro analytical, radioactive, chromatographic analytical techniques. The use of analytical sciences in particular chromatography in the discovery, development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals is wide-ranging. From the analysis of minute amounts of complex biological materials to the quality control of the final dosage form, the use of analytical technology covers an immense range of techniques and disciplines. In addition each student is required to write an assignment on a designated topic in the area of pharmaceutical analysis syllabi.
