Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry provides the fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry. The principles of organic chemistry cover topics on structure and bonding, alkanes and cycloalkanes, alkenes, alkynes, stereochemistry and stereoisomerism, alkyl halides, benzene and aromaticity, alcohols and phenols, amine and preview of carbonyl compounds as well as heterocyclic compounds.

In addition, each student is required to work on tutorial and practical on designated topics of pharmaceutical chemistry syllabi. Students are encouraged to read text and reference books for more in-depth knowledge.
