This course aims to provide the Foundation students background knowledge of the respective health professionals and what would be expected when they choose their degree in the future study. This will enable them to have a better insight into the challenges that await them in the health-related fields.  

This course is important to expose students early on the roles and responsibilities of a future health-related professionals before they commit to their choice of degree. The course provides the background knowledge, perceptions, expectations, and responsibilities of the health-related profession.

The topics in Pharmacy provides the Foundation students an overview of the pharmacy practices and the healthcare system. The student will learn about the past history of Pharmacy globally and locally in Malaysia. They will also be exposed to various disciplines of pharmacy and where they will be working in the future. Some topics will cover the professional duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist in retail/community pharmacy, industrial pharmacy and expose to the core competencies of a hospital pharmacy. The students will also have a brief idea of the importance of research in pharmacy and also the involvement of pharmacists in education and academia.

The topics in Medicine provides the Foundation students a brief overview of medical knowledge and practices. It encompasses various aspects such as: how the past medical development shapes the present and future medical landscape; how the medicine affects individual, family, society and the environment; and the holistic approach to the study of medicine.
