This course is a Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU) subject, which was introduced by the Ministry of Education aims to make improvements in the structure of compulsory towards improving the quality of human capital in line with Pelan Strategik Pengajian Tinggi Negara (PSPTN).
In addition, the MPU aims to produce graduates who are holistic and patriotic. Also, the course aims to enable the students to master the soft skills required to fulfilling the marketability of work.
Environmental education can solve environmental problems nowadays and may prevent new problems. Environmental education defined by UNESCO (1977) covers all learning, communication,
community engagement activities, and any other activities aimed at forming a sensitive and environmentally responsible human population. The impact on education is considered as a long-term environmental management tool because this knowledge creates a good citizen, sensitive and caring for an interdependent environment.
It is also the cultivation of the love of the homeland, considering aspects of conservation and preservation of the environment for the universal heritage.
The course aims to expose students to environmental issues as well as to understand environmental claims through the interaction of all environmental components. Through this course, students can demonstrate the competence of understanding environmental conservation issues from various aspects in addition to forming awareness and concern for the environment.
