In this module, students will develop an
understanding of the theoretical concepts surrounding pharmacology such as the
pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs and the concepts surrounding
pharmacotherapy. It gives specific information concerning cardiovascular,
pulmonary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, endocrine,
renal, and antimicrobial drug classifications with common examples in each.
Special emphasis will be given to antibiotics, antivirals, and chemotherapeutic
drugs. Students will learn with the help of lectures, tutorials, videos,
presentations, and group work.
