This course consists of lectures, tutorials (mock OSCE), practical, and project presentation. This course introduces the student to multiple dosage form such as internal liquid preparations, suspensions, emulsions, creams, ointments, powder, capsules and suppositories and also different route of administrations. The students will also be introduced on reading the prescription and labeling the prescription. Besides, students will also be exposed on pharmaceutical calculations and introduced to the reference books being used in practice.

The course covers basic principles of clinical pharmacokinetics and the practice of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) including interpretation of serum levels, modifications of dosage regimen and clinical monitoring of patients. Students will be exposed to clinical pharmacokinetic practice through integration of skills and experience in interpreting, suggesting dosage regimen and clinical monitoring.

This course focuses on the pathophysiology and therapeutics diseases in the area of psychiatry, respiratory, endocrine & neurology. This course would be conducted through lectures, tutorials and case studies. It aims to increase the candidates’ ability to integrate the skills and knowledge in pharmacotherapeutics in order to make rational decisions regarding patients’ therapy management. The course will cover a variety of disease conditions, evidence-based pharmacotherapy, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, and monitoring parameters. It also covers the principles of pharmaceutical care in the respective settings.

Synopsis:
This course will provide the concepts and principles in the following subjects of physics: Measurement and Uncertainty, Kinematics in 1-dimension, Dynamic and Newton’s Law of Motion, Momentum and Collision, Work and Energy, Temperature & Heat and Fluids Mechanics and Thermodynamics.
After completing this course, student would be able to:
CLO1 Explain the fundamental laws of physics. (LO1, C2)
CLO2 Demonstrate good communication skill in presenting the SCTL topics. (LO5, A5)
CLO3 Apply suitable theories and knowledge to solve problems of physics regarding daily life application. (LO6, C3)

- Continuous assessment 50% (these consist of mid semester assessment (20%), Assignment (5%),SCTL (10%) and quiz (15%),)
- Final / end-of-course assessment (50%) [these consist of written assessments with the following question types: MCQ 10%), long answer questions (essay – 20 %) and short answer questions (SAQ – 20%)].
